The Red Tent support group

Sharing the stories of our births is a sacred and time honored tradition.

The Red Tent is a time to gather together and share our birth stories with each other. Sharing our journeys around the parts of our lives that envelope pregnancy, birth, postpartum is a powerful way to help us to connect with and learn from each other, to heal our wounds, to lift our spirits and strengthen our community.

Babes in arms welcome. While we love, love, love our older more mobile and vocal BBC babies, this is a quiet and reflective evening and providing that space is important for you and the group as a whole.

Please feel free to bring a snack to share because, ya know, food is a big part of caring for our community.

If you plan to attend, please register to save your spot. If you are unable to attend, please  unregister or email us at info@bbcroc.com to let us know so we can offer your spot to someone else. Thank you!

We kindly appreciate your $3 donation (or any amount you want to share) to help us cover the costs of this event. We can pay online below or when you arrive with cash or a QR payment code.

The Red Tent is facilitated by:

JULIA SITTIG Doula

Julia Sittig, Advanced Birth Doula, Educator, Doula Trainer MSW, ADVCD/BDT(DONA), LCCE, SPBCPE, Body Ready Method Pro

Julia has had the honor of accompanying women and their partners through pregnancy and birth since 2004, years of invaluable experience that have led her to deeply appreciate the time honored truth that those who are giving birth have been designed to participate in their own birth, not just experience it. She has supported women and their families through so many different journeys in birth, from first births and singles to multiples, vaginal and cesarean, VBAC and VBA2C, hospital and home, natural, high risk, and more. Julia is an Advanced DONA International Certified Birth Doula (2004) and Birth Doula Trainer (2011), a Lamaze International Certified Childbirth Educator (Passion for Birth, 2004), and has many years of experience as a homebirth midwifery assistant.

ALISON SPATH Doula

Alison Spath, IBCLC, Body Ready Method Pro, CD(DONA)

Alison cares deeply about the importance of personal and informed decision-making and aims to provide her clients with evidence-based information in all things related to pregnancy, birth, feeding and early parenthood. Alison’s own birth and breastfeeding experiences along with her work with hundreds of families over the years has taught her that there are often unpredictable bumps and turns on this journey. What’s most important to her is that you were informed of your options and feel supported, heard and respected throughout all the many decisions you will make during this time in your life.

At BBC, Alison teaches our Intro to Breastfeeding class for expecting parents, facilitates our weekly breastfeeding support group Breastfeeding Cafe, offers private in home (or at BBC) lactation consults and manages our yoga studio. Alison is currently accepting lactation clients and accepts birth doula clients on a limited basis.
